I'm interested in what everyone reads for their inspiration and/or guidance to the gardening thing. Ruth Stout has always been a favorite, but only after I learned about sheet mulching and deep litter mulching from my permaculture intensive courses.

That led me to this book which I will not ever absorb enough of in my lifetime (and makes good winter reading.)

I recommend the Bullock Bros. on Orcas Island course if you're looking for a permaculture course.

And then, for the nitty gritty sq. in. planning, I use this book which I found after attending the Willits, CA 3 day intensive there.

Everything in these books works by my experience. Of course, you can't ignore you're particular situation, but have to adapt and modify to suit. But that's why they gave us brains.
